ETHICAL AND SUSTAINABLE FASHION<\/h2>\n

To understand sustainable fashion, we must first reflect on what is current fashion, that is: buy, use and throw away. Fashion as we know it focuses on aesthetics and develops in the serial, consumerism, mass, standardization. And this generates a large consumption of resources, pollution and exploitation.<\/p>\n

Faced with this type of fashion \u201cFast fashion\u201d, sustainable fashion emerges as an alternative, which has as its principles, the protection of the environment, fairer labor policies and the conscious use of natural resources.<\/p>\n

Evea was born with this philosophy, as an alternative to \u201cfast fashion\u201d, we add aesthetics, ethics; together with a new vision of responsible production that has a positive impact on the environment, on the communities and families\u2019 economy, and achieves awareness among people about responsible consumption.<\/p>\n

CONSERVATION OF THE AMAZON<\/h2>\n

The Amazon is a wonderful place, it is the largest and most extensive tropical forest in the world, but there is a big problem: deforestation. Each year in Peru more than 150,000 hectares of forest are deforested, it is a larger area than the city of New York. This deforestation is caused by illegal logging or mining and drug trafficking, but its principal origin is extreme poverty, the need for people to acquire economic incomes, satisfy their basic needs and improve their quality of life, \u201cAnd as wood is not for eating \u201c, the populations cut the forest in order to generate unsustainable crops in a soil that does not have agricultural characteristics, and these small actions as a whole cause 90% of the deforestation.<\/p>\n

In Evea we seek to contribute to solve this problem. Our proposal seeks to promote the sustainable use of the forest based on the organized harvesting and ecological processing of latex tree Shiringa. The shiringa is a tree that grows wild in the Amazon and has an internal milky liquid called latex, which, through an artisan process is converted into rubber sheets. It is a very old technique where trees are not cut, and the necessary latex is extracted so that the tree can continue alive and regenerate.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=\u00bb1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

In Evea we work with shiringueras communities of the Peruvian Amazon of the departments of Ucayali and Amazonas. SOCIAL IMPACT<\/h2>\n

Empowerment of families and fair trade<\/strong><\/p>\n

The origin of deforestation is extreme poverty and lack of opportunities. The depredation of our Amazon not only destroys the habitat of many species and contributes to global warming, but corrupts the spirit of union between man and nature, bringing vices, illegality, exploitation, drug trafficking, prostitution, violence and imbalance.<\/p>\n

Evea works with Amazonian families that collect latex from shiringa, generating a business opportunity that respects the environment and people, offering Amazonian families the alternative of obtaining economic income from their environment without cutting down the trees.<\/p>\n

Evea works under the principles of fair trade in a responsible, ethical and transparent manner, seeking the development of the communities that collect and produce wild rubber, paying a fair price above the cost of the market, which benefits the communities and makes collection of a profitable business for both parties.<\/p>\n

To achieve our goal of social impact with transparency we create alliances with local governments, private institutions and state agencies that protect the Amazon forest, so we work together to encourage the development of the Peruvian jungle.<\/p>\n

If before the families earned 1.30 dollars per kilogram of natural rubber, with our model of integration in sustainable production they can now earn between 3 to 4 dollars depending on the area. This increase in more than 200% contributes to encourage work with shiringa, thus achieving the indirect patrolling of more forest areas.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=\u00bb1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
